Mrs. Cindy Showalter is the principal of Agape Christian School. Mrs. Showalter has her Masters of Education Degree from St. Leo University in St. Leo Florida.. This school year will mark Mrs, Showalter’s 33rd year in education. She has been with Agape Christian School since 2005. She is an active member of First Brethren Church of Sarasota. Mrs. Showalter is married to her husband Dean and has two fur-babies, McIntosh and Kaitlyn. Mrs. Showalter enjoys reading books and working with the youth group.
Donna Bunch - Teacher
Mrs. Donna Bunch has her Bachelors of Arts Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, Kentucky. Mrs. Bunch started teaching with Agape Christian School in the fall of 2018. She will be teaching grades sixth through eighth grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Mrs. Bunch is an active member of Full Gospel Tabernacle in Bradenton, where she teaches a Sunday School class on a regular basis. She is married to her husband, Dee, and is a mother as well as a grandmother. Mrs. Bunch enjoys time with family, relaxing bicycle rides, photography and sunsets by the ocean.
Mrs. Heidi Platt has her Bachelors of Child and Family Studies from Ashland University. She has been with Agape Christian School since 2008. She will be teaching Kindergarten through second grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Mrs. Platt is trained in CPR and First Aid. She is an active member at South Shore Community Church. Mrs Platt is married to her husband Jason and has two step children, Jeffery and Richelle as well as two grand-children. In her leisure time Mrs. Platt enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching movies and going to Disney World.
Miss. Beth Schlabach has her Masters of School Counseling Degree from Saint Francis University in Fort Wayne Indiana. This year will be Miss Sclabach’s 39th year of teaching. She has been with Agape since the fall of 2016 where she teaches eighth through twelfth grades. Miss Schlabach is an active member of First Brethren Church of Sarasota. In her leisure time she enjoys reading, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, movies, and her cats.
Mrs. Rebekah Tow has an Associates Degree in Medical Assistance from Sanford Brown Institute in Tampa Florida. In addition, she holds a Pastoral Counseling Degree. She has completed courses in ABA Therapy, Autism Awareness, Special Education and Classroom Management. Mrs Tow has been with Agape Christian School since 2011 and will be teaching Exceptional Student Education for the 2019 - 2020 school year. Mrs. Tow is an active member of The Family Church at the Christian Retreat in Bradenton. She is married to her husband Josh, and is a mother of six as well as a grandmother of one grandchild. Mrs. Tow enjoys reading, crafts and spending time with her family.
Emmy Wefelmeyer - Teacher
Miss Emmy Wefelmeyer has her Masters in Plant Pathology from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Miss Wefelmeyer has her Florida Teaching Certificate in Science. She is also certified in Science Grades 6-12 and has an ESOL Endorsement. Miss Wefelmeyer started teaching with Agape Christian School in the fall of 2018. She will be teaching grades third through fourth grade for the 2019-2020 school year. Miss Wefelmeyer is an active member at First Brethren Church in Sarasota where she teaches Sunday School. She is a proud Mama of one cat named Max. During her leisure time she enjoys gardening.
Mike Farrell - Teacher
Pastor Mike Farrell has his Masters of Science in Religious Education from the Church of God School of Theology. We would like to welcome Pastor Mike for his first year with Agape Christian School. He comes to Agape with 11 years of experience in Christian Education. He has been a Senior Pastor for over 36 years. Pastor Farrell will be teaching third through sixth grades for the 2019 - 2020 school year. Pastor Farrell is the Pastor at New Vision Church of God. He enjoys playing the guitar and singing.
Sandy Cartner - Emeritus Teacher
Although Mrs. Sandy Cartner has retired, she will forever be a part of Agape Christian School. Mrs. Cartner was one of the teachers to help open Agape in 2005. She retired after fourteen year of service in 2019. Mrs. Cartner has grown with Agape and has seen many changes in those years. She has her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Christian Education with a Minor in Pastoral Counseling. She has an Associates of Science in Nursing. She is knowledgeable in the School of Tomorrow Curriculum which she used to home school her own children. Mrs. Cartner has a large family including, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is an active member at The Family Church at the Christian Retreat in Bradenton.
Nikkie Battle-Farnum – Teacher Aide
Mrs. Nikkie Battle-Farnum is an Agape Christian School Teacher Aide in Exceptional Student Education. Mrs Farnum is currently attending South College of Florida where she is studying Early Childhood Education. This is Mrs. Farnum’s second year at Agape Christian. She is a native of Virginia. She is married with two children, one in high school and the other is in college. Mrs. Battle-Farnum enjoys shopping and spending time with her family.
Dawn Bowen – Teacher Aide
Mrs. Dawn Bowen is an Agape Christian School Teacher Aide in the Middle and High School classroom. This will be Mrs. Bowen’s second year with Agape Christian School. She has several years of experience working with the ACE curriculum. Mrs. Bowen is member of The Family Church at Christian Retreat in Bradenton. She is actively involved in the youth ministry programs at her church including Kidz Zone and Team Kids. She is married to her husband Lavanus and has six children as well as two grandchildren. Mrs. Bowen enjoys time with her family, the beach and camping.
Kim Falco - Tutor
Miss Kim Falco has been a tutor at Agape since 2011. She has a Bachelor of Science in Exceptional Education, Specific Learning Disabilities. She enjoys helping students with study skills and PACE work.
