Labor Day, Monday, September 1st

Labor Day is Monday. This is a school holiday. Have a great three day weekend.

100 % Club

Today ends week 3 of school. Many students have taken tests in their PACE work or math, or ignita. We have 54 students and 25 of them have earned a 100% on a test. This is exciting! Maybe we can get the others on the board by week 6.

Maryland

This week, we had crab cakes that are popular in Maryland. Mean Dean’s Restaurant, in Bradenton, was kind of enough to make them for us. They were yummy! Ms. Yanira’s art/project class made a pound cake using a recipe from Maryland. This also was yummy!

September Concrete Being Poured

The church will be pouring concrete for a new shed. The shell road will be closed at this time. When I get a date, I will give you more information. When it happens, you will need to enter on Shade and exit onto Fruitville through day care parking lot. Or you can park by basketball hoops and come in and get your child and exit back onto Shade. There are several other concrete projects that will happen but those shouldn’t affect us.

Break Time

Each class takes a morning break. This is a time for your child to enjoy a snack and to energize themselves until lunch time. If you could pack a snack, that would be great.

Beginning of Year School Paperwork

If you haven’t turned in the beginning of school paperwork, please do so ASAP.

All kindergarten and 7th graders will be audited for immunizations and health exams by the state of Florida. Please make sure that Ms. Cindy receives these documents by ASAP.

Cell phones

It is our policy that cell phones be turned in at the start of the day. We have purchased a phone box that will hold the larger cell phones. Each box has a lock that can be used by the student to lock their phone in the box.

That being said, we are not getting many cell phones turned in each morning. As a reminder, if your child is caught with a cell phone, he/she will have a detention to serve after school from 2:30-3:30. The next time will be a suspension.
